While the core of my artwork is landscape and nature-based abstract painting exploring the mutable intersection of water and land, on this page I’ll show other work going on at my studio that doesn’t appear in the painting examples at the front of this site.

To be human is to make—to shape our lives using the means at hand, whether in building shelter, cooking, designing clothes, cultivating plants, making art to nurture the soul. As a visual artist, I make images in my mind into oil paintings, and also bend wire, design posters, paint murals, draw, tear, glue,  photograph landscapes, print digital art, create images for social justice, paint portraits of people I love, gaze at water. I turn experience into art, using the language of design, my eye the unifying element.
